New Bird Licensing System National Parks and Wildlife Service
As of October 18th 2002 all persons holding any non-exempt protected native bird will need to obtain a license. Phone Wildlife Licensing on 02 9585 6480.
Exemptions (no license required):
- All non-Australian native birds. This includes Eclectus parrots, Indian ringnecks, African greys, Macaws, etc.
- Australian birds exemptions: Sulfur-crested cockatoos, galahs, little corellas.
