Health Programme Summary

6-8 weeks of age:

  • Vaccination against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus and Kennel Cough (C4).
  • Socialise and basic training immediately after this vaccination.
  • De-worm with Endoguard tablet each two weeks until three months old.
  • Shampoo weekly with "Fleadrop".
  • Start monthly Heartguard heartworm tablets.

12 weeks of age:

  • Vaccination against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus and full Kennel Cough (C5) and Leptospirosis in rat areas(C6).
  • Continue socialising and basic training.
  • De-worm with Endoguard tablets each month until 6 months old.
  • Shampoo weekly with "Fleadrop".
  • Continue monthly Heartguard heartworm tablets.

16 weeks of age:

  • Final puppy vaccination against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, full Kennel Cough (C5). Booster vaccine for Leptospirosis in rat areas (C6).
  • Socialisation period ends and serious training begins.
  • Continue de-worming and heartworm each month.
  • "Fleadrop" shampoo weekly in summer and monthly in winter.
  • Continue monthly Heartguard until 6 months of age or for life.

6 months:

  • Serious training ends, but reinforcing continues for life.
  • Desexing for female dogs.
  • De-worming with Endoguard each 3 months for life.
  • Heartworm vaccination each year.

9-12 months:

  • Desexing of male dogs.

15 months then annually:

  • S12 Heartworm vaccination may be started with first annual boosters. From then on, all vaccinations (C5/SR12) can be given together once a year.
